The Reverend Andi Hofbauer

Mother Andi, the Vicar was licensed at St Aidan's in December 2015.  

 

Born and brought up in Germany, Mo. Andi came to the UK in 1998 to work for the Mersey Mission to Seafarers in Liverpool for a year....and the rest, as they say, is history.  Before following her call to St Aidan's, Mo. Andi served in the Diocese of Exeter as Curate, University Chaplain and in Reader and Ordinand training and then the historic Diocese of Wakefield (before the creation of the Diocese of Leeds), as Canon Precentor of Wakefield Cathedral.  Mo. Andi is passionate about sailing and her regular service on the Sea Cadet Corps' Tall Ship TS Royalist, enjoys reading and her martial arts training, and walking Airedale Rufus.

Priest in Charge

The Reverend Ericcson Tinashe Mapfumo

Revd Ericcson trained for ordination at St Hild College Mirfield and was ordained deacon in 2018. Originally from Zimbabwe, he has lived in England for the last fourteen years. As an immigrant, he is interested in cross-cultural missions, which he sees as fundamental to the work of the gospel message, to create a community which reflects Revelations 7:9.

 

Revd Ericcson said "I feel at home here at St Aidan, given the mosaic of people from all walks of life that l have encountered so far". An Avid chess player and coach, he enjoys being around people including his young family. Some of his other hobbies includes; listening to blues music, watching tennis and reading about the history of Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Reverend Diana Zanker

The Reverend Diana Zanker, has been in ministry at St Aidan’s since 2005. Prior to her ordination she taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in a number of inner-city schools in Leeds.  She is currently Chair of Trustees for Harehills English Language Project (H.E.L.P) which provides ESOL to asylum seekers and refugees at St Aidan’s and nearby Trinity United Church.

The Reverend Paul Hunt

The Rev’d Paul Hunt has been in ministry elsewhere in Leeds from 1989 to 2000 and at St Aidan’s since 2010. He also has permission to officiate.

Tony Jowitt

Tony Jowitt was licensed as a Reader to St Aidan’s over 20 years ago.  He is a regular member of a joint Society of St Vincent de Paul with a local Roman Catholic church. He visits the housebound administering home communion and maintaining contact between them and the church. He is part of a small team who provide a meal on Christmas Day for those who would otherwise be on their own. He also heavily involved in our Food Share Project.

Reader Emeritus

Carolynne Pepper

Carolynne Pepper was licensed as a Reader in October 2010, having been a member of the congregation since 1991. She is   the Mothers’ Union branch leader, a member of the PCC and Deanery Synod and is involved in the Baptism Group and Worship Committee for St Aidan’s Church.

Church Officers

The Church Wardens

T K Chinembiri and Ros Lehany work closely with the clergy, and as part of their responsibilities help in the smooth running of the church and the day to day functioning of the parish such as various aspects of administration, care for the building and involvement with the people of the parish.

Treasurer

Philip Chinyenze is St Aidan’s treasurer. His job is to keep track of the  parish and community hall finances as well as presenting the accounts at the AGM. He is always happy to receive donations on behalf of the church.

Parish Administrator

Pat Case is the Parish Administrator.   Her role is to support the Vicar in the day to day administration of the church affairs.  She is also responsible for the management of the church hall and bookings.

Parish Communications Officer

Barrie Pepper is an author and journalist. He has overseen St Aidan's public relations for 20 years and has written three books on the church; a history, a diary and one on its role in the Great War.
